Poppy and Marigold

Poppy and Marigold, now Nebula and Gamora (Nebby and Mora for short), have found their forever home with Luke and Alaina.  Congrats, ladies!!

These twin lops are doubly adorable and double the fun!  While nearly impossible to tell apart, their personalities give their identities away.  But if you look hard, you can see Poppy has a darker face with a brown spot on her forehead and Marigold is a little lighter brown along her neck and back.

Marigold
Poppy

Poppy is more adventurous, while Marigold is more laid-back and reserved.  Both are sweethearts who enjoy snuggling together.  You can find Poppy towering above all like the little queen she is in their hay bin or atop a cardboard box, while Marigold is likely hiding underneath.  Poppy loves attention and is first to hop over for pets and treats.  Once Marigold sees you are no threat, she will cautiously follow her twin for some head rubs.

The girls would likely get along with other pets as long as the other pets are nice to them!  They are housed near other bunnies and dogs.  We’d want to adopt them together, since they are so close.

These bunnies in BHRS foster care needed a permanent home. All BHRS rabbits are spayed/neutered, litterbox-trained, and socialized.

Our 12th Holiday Raffle

And our raffle winner is … Gary Savage of Alliance, OH! Congratulations to Gary and many thanks to all who supported the Buckeye HRS through the purchase of raffle tickets. Proceeds are allowing us to make 2018 brighter for more homeless bunnies in Ohio.

For our twelfth annual holiday raffle, we proudly present this stunning, hand-crocheted afghan by our very own educator, Dr. Diana Cron!  Peace, Love, Buckeyes, and Bunnies is a one-of-a-kind creation featuring twelve adorable bunnies and a cluster of buckeyes.

Each bunny is different – you’ll find up-ears, lops, lionheads, inquisitive bunnies, and relaxed ones. The rabbit shades of grey, tan, cream, and rust along with contrasting highlights complement any room’s color scheme. Measuring approximately five feet by five feet, this cozy blanket will be large enough to wrap yourself in rabbits or use as a decorative accent on a bed. Easy care 100% acrylic.

All proceeds will go directly to our foster program and will ensure that needy bunnies have a safe and happy holiday season while they await the ultimate gift, a permanent home.

You can order tickets here (minimum 5 tickets), or by mail.  Tickets cost $1 each and you may buy as many as you wish.  If you are sending by mail, all entries must be postmarked no later than December 11, 2017.  Please include your phone number and email (if available) with your check or money order and indicate it’s for the raffle.  Mail your request to:  Buckeye HRS, P.O. Box 61, Vickery, OH  43464.

The lucky winner will be notified mid-December and will receive the prize in time for holiday gift-giving.

Butters

Butters is best buds with her new husband — also named Butters (we think it’s fate).  Parents Sarah and Ben are thrilled with their new addition.

Butters is only about six months old and she has acclimated to house bunny life perfectly!  She has excellent litter box habits and she’s friendly as can be.  She is even known for doing impressive binkies and the Bunny 500.  She was found loose in a neighborhood in Elyria.
