Rabbit Veterinarian Directory

Everyone knows how challenging it can be to locate a veterinarian who has experience with house rabbits and with whom we feel comfortable as clients. The list below includes vets who regularly treat our chapter’s foster rabbits, as well as others recommended by several of our members. This list is not all-inclusive. In fact, it’s an ongoing work-in-progress that we hope to update and republish from time to time. If you’d like to recommend a vet who does not appear below, please write to us or send us an email.

EMERGENCY VET CARE If you are in the Cleveland/Akron area and need an emergency vet clinic that is open 24 hours, please go immediately to the clinic listed here. A rabbit specialist may not be on duty; however, a local rabbit vet may be paged if necessary. Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital 1053 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd Akron, OH 44321 330-666-2976 or 330-253-2544     In the Columbus/Dayton area, this clinic run by Dr. Barbara Oglesbee offers emergency care 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.  The staff, trained in rabbit medicine, includes a board-certified surgeon and internist, and hospitalized rabbits are monitored 24-hours by vets and nurses.
